If this is a free event, why are we asking you to sign up?
The primary reason is to make sure that we are able to ensure that there are sufficient budget allocated for refreshments (don’t want to repeat the LeWeb experience if we can avoid it).
Secondary reasons are;
- make sure we have enough space (the hall can take up to 800, so no real problems there so far
) - make sure that we layout the space so that we ensure that we are both not crowded, but also not in some large empty hall
- help you stay in contact with the interesting people you meet on the day
To that end, the Facebook event seems to be drawing the larger crowd of people currently.
